Kristin Fischer is set to join CNN as CNN's Space and Defense Correspondent in July 2021. As a correspondent she is responsible for covering everything from NASA and the newly created Space Force, to commercial space firms and the emergence to space tourism. Kristin is the daughter of NASA astronauts and an enthusiastic space lover was raised within the space industry. She worked for five years as the White House correspondent for FOX News covering space policy during the Biden and Trump administrations. During that time, she also covered two presidential impeachment trials, the 2020 presdiential campaign, as well as two attempts by the administration to stop the spread of coronavirus. She also went on numerous journeys with the President and Vice President as well as a secret trip to Afghanistan along with the then-President Donald Trump. Kristin has worked in the newsrooms of local markets like Grand Junction, Colorado, Little Rock, Arkansas, as well as Washington, D.C. for more than a decade prior to joining the CBS network. She won an Emmy Award in Washington, D.C. for her work as a CBS affiliate's one-man band reporter. With her experience behind the camera, Kristin established Field Mouse Films in 2014. The company specialized in making documentary-style films for corporate clients, such as Uber and Starwood Hotels & Resorts. Kristin received her Bachelors of Science in Journalism from Boston University. She and her husband, who is three years old, daughter live in Washington, D.C.
